Ingredients:
Ingredients for Jar: 1-quart wide-mouth jar 1L 1½ cups flour 360ml 2 teaspoons baking powder 10ml 1 cup chopped nuts 240ml 2 cups packed brown sugar 480ml
Instructions for Jar: In 1-quart (1 L), wide-mouth jar, pour flour and baking powder.
Add chopped nuts and press down as far as possible.
Pack brown sugar into jar as tightly as possible and screw on lid.

Instructions for Baking: ½ cup (1 stick) butter 120 ml 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 5 ml
Preheat oven to 350 (176 C) and put butter in small saucepan. Melt over low heat and stir constantly.
Put brown sugar into saucepan, heat until it boils and stir constantly.
In large mixing bowl add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each addition.
Pour in remaining dry ingredients from jar and beat well.
Stir in butter-brown sugar and vanilla and mix well.
Prepare 9 x 13-inch (23 x 33 cm) baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Pour batter evenly into pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve with vanilla ice cream. |
